Finding happiness despite past trauma (not just on International Day of Happiness)

As a success coach who specialises in helping women build successful online businesses despite past trauma, I understand that finding happiness can be a challenging journey. But it’s important to remember that happiness is not just a fleeting emotion, but a state of being that we can cultivate through our thoughts, actions, and choices.

One of the first steps to finding happiness despite past trauma is to acknowledge and accept your past. Trauma can leave lasting scars that can affect your mental health and wellbeing, but it’s important to recognise that these scars don’t define you. Acknowledging and accepting your past can be difficult, but it’s a necessary step in the healing process – and towards business success.

Another key to finding happiness is to practice self-care. Self-care is crucial for your mental health and wellbeing, and it can take many different forms. This can include things like exercise, meditation, spending time in nature, or simply taking time for yourself to do something that you enjoy. By taking care of yourself, you can cultivate a sense of happiness and inner peace.

It’s also important to seek professional help if you’re struggling to find happiness despite past trauma. A therapist or specialist coach can provide you with the tools and support you need to work through your trauma and find happiness and success. Seeking professional help can be a difficult step to take, but it’s a crucial one in the healing process.

Focusing on gratitude is another powerful tool for cultivating happiness. By focusing on what you’re grateful for, even in the midst of difficult circumstances, you can shift your mindset from negative to positive. This can help you appreciate the good things in your life and find happiness in the present moment.

Building a support system is also hugely important for finding happiness despite past trauma. Surrounding yourself with positive and supportive people who can help uplift you during difficult times can make all the difference. This can include friends, family, and colleagues, as well as support groups and online communities, masterminds or accountability groups are great options too.

Finally, pursuing your passions and interests can bring a sense of purpose and fulfillment to your life. Whether it’s starting a new hobby or pursuing a career in a field that you’re passionate about, following your dreams can help you find happiness despite past trauma. You deserve to live in your purpose! Doing what you love will connect you with that. You don’t always have to know where you are going – just know that you are on your way and on the right track when you are moving towards doing more of what lights you up.

Remember, finding happiness is a journey, and it’s okay to ask for help along the way! As a success coach, I’m here to support women in their pursuit of happiness and success, and I believe that with the right mindset, tools, and support, anything is possible. And you are WORTH it.

Huge love. Norah x
